IEEE とは (What is IEEE?)
IEEEとは"Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers"の略で、 世界最大の電気電子分野の学会のことです。
- アイ トリプル イー と読みます。
- 主な活動：学会の開催・論文の発行・技術の標準化(IEEE802.11 etc.)など
- 電気、電子、情報、通信、物理など幅広い分野を扱っています。
- 日本はRegion 10(アジア, オセアニア)に属しています。
(R1-R6: アメリカ, R7: カナダ, R8: ヨーロッパ, アフリカ, 中東, R9: 中南米 )

IEEE Student Branch とは (What is IEEE Student Branch?)
IEEEの学生活動を活性化するサークルのような団体です。
(It is an organization that activates student activities.)
- 研究や交流活動を活性化します。
Activating research and exchange activities. - 明治大学の学生がIEEE学生員になると、実は、自動的にBranchのメンバーということになってます。
You are automatically a Branch member when you become a IEEE student member.
IEEEに入会している明治大学の学生の皆さん！！
SB活動を知らないなんて、もったいない！！ - 学生主体で企画運営し、様々な活動をしています。
例：意見交換会・企業見学会・講演会・懇親会など
Our activities are led by students.
Ex.) Discussion meeting・Company visit・Lecture・Social gathering etc. - 明治大学SBは 2007年 に設立されました！
IEEE Student Branch at Meiji University was established in 2007. - 日本全国に36大学(2024年3月時点)のSBがあります。
There are 36 SBs in Japan (As of March 2024). - Student Branchの立ち上げには、少なくとも12名のIEEE学生会員が必要です。
また、活動を続けるためには、少なくとも11名のIEEE学生会員が必要です。

学生のIEEE入会について
(IEEE membership for students)
明治大学の学生(大学院生)で、ゼミに所属されている方は、研究室によっては入会費を一部負担してくれる場合もあります。
詳しくは、指導教員にお問い合わせください。
In Meiji University, students (including graduate students) who are in the laboratory
may have the membership fee covered by the laboratory.
Please inquire of your professor for more details.
会期(Menmbership year) → 1月1日～12月31日 (From 1 January through 31 December)
入会費(Membership Fee) → (学生 Student) US $27
(3月1日～8月15日の間に"新規で"入会する場合、年会費が半額となります。
(You can get the half price of membership fee when you join during March to August.) $27→$13.5)
インターネットで調べると、割引に使えるプロモーションコードがIEEE公式関連サイトで掲載されている場合もあります。
