Department of Electronics and Bioinformatics, School of Science and Technology
This course allows you to study the foundation of electronics, electromagnetism and electric circuit.
The most attractive thing on this course is that you can learn the various fields, such as electronics (engineering) and the life science.
Seemingly separated scientific fields, electronics and life science, are united in this course.
Electrical energy is a highly flexible one which has a good deal of potentials, such as light, power, thermal energy, sound or imaging. The department of Bioinformatics provides the opportunities to get in touch with those fields above.
I have been fascinated by the engineering fields since I was in a high school. Eletronics and infrastructure will meet the demands on the current society. So I picked up this department.
Curriculum to study smoothly. We got the solid foundation in the 1st and 2nd grade. On 3rd grade, we could proceed smoothly.
On 1st and 2nd grades, experimenting a lot of engineering and life science. That made me understand how the research was being done.
There are special equipments such as power generators or measurement devices in the lab. That makes it possible to try them out in practice.
You can pick up a specific feature among electricity, electronics or life science etc. That can deepen your scientific interests.
Experimenting is sometimes challenging but necessary. Experimenting gives you a solid foundation on your previous knowledge gained in the classroom.
My graduation research is biological sample analysis development that combined enzyme protein and electrochemistry.
My graduate research is, realtime measurement of composition change contained in sweat.
My research is, real-time measurement of lactate increase/decrease in sweat by way of a new sensor system which combined fluid mechanics in the micro space and the biosensor.
I was interested in electric circuit when I was a freshman, but on the 2nd grade, system control made me excited about robotics. So I belonged to the system control lab. We are now making use of drones to research.
I would like to pursue my career as a robotics engineer in future.
I want to apply my knowledge to sport science.
I would like to develop my products or skills which make people live happily in our tech-surrounded society.
To be honest, I was totally not good at experimenting, electromagnetism or conding on computer before. But I became proficient in those scientific fields step by step. That kind of experience gave me a confidence, really.
Essential knowledge and experiences in the lab will go a long way.
