Seven new third-year students were newly assigned to the laboratory, and all members of the laboratory met. Afterwards, a commemorative photo was taken on the university campus.

Mr. Katsumata, a first-year master's student, presented a paper on optical phase noise measurement using coherent heterodyne detection at the IEICE General Conference.

After the students successfully submitted their master's and graduation theses, we held a follow-up party at a restaurant near the university.

One month has passed since the third-year students started their research.
We held the first research report session for the third-year students, and then the entire lab went to a year-end party.

Mr. Seitaibashi, a 2nd year master student, presented a paper on MIMO communication systems using visible light at IEICE National Convention.

Professor Ryu presented a paper on continuous measurement of backscattered light in the time domain at IEICE Tehnical Committee Meeting.

Mr. Seitaibashi, a 2nd year master student, presented a paper at OECC2023, an international conference on optoelectronics and optical communication held in Shanghai, China. In addition, the presented paper won the Best Poster Award.

Professor Ryu's research results were press-released from Meiji University.

At CLEO2023 (held in San Jose, USA), one of the world's largest international conferences related to optics, Prof. Ryu presented a paper on phase noise and polarization state measurement of optical signals using an optical delay interferometer.

A paper by Prof. Ryu on continuous measurement of optical fiber backscattered light on the time axis has been published in IEEE Photonics Technology Letters.

Seven new 3rd year students were assigned, and a kickoff meeting was held at the beginning of the school year. It was the first time in four years that we were able to take a commemorative photo with all members of the laboratory.

Fourth-year undregraduate students had a party at a restaurant at Nakano.
They are conducting their reserch works successfully for an iterium report poster session of guraduation thesis which will be held on 16 November.
