The Department of Physics at Meiji University has 14 research groups that cover a wide range of fields in physics, such as elementary particle physics, solid state physics, optical physics, and biological physics. The faculty conducts both education and research at the graduate school and is also in charge of undergraduate education in the Department of Physics.
We teach the established fundamentals of modern physics, with the aim of training students to think and consider problems by means of deductive reasoning, as well as to master experimental methods and the principle of observing nature objectively and logically. For this purpose, we do not merely teach fragmentary knowledge, and instead provide a curriculum that helps students to directly acquire expertise in physics thinking, careful observation of nature, and complete logic through various experiences and exercises. We eagerly welcome all students who want to study in our department.
