Comment 1. Appearance of the object in the vertical posture


When we stand the object vertically by lifting the farther side, the direct view corresponds to the upside-down version of the mirror image of the object in the original position. Hence we see upside-down triangles. The mirror image of the vertically positioned object corresponds to the rear view of the original (horizontal) object, and hence we see circles.

The garage roof changes the appearance from a round roof to a corrugated roof when reflected in a mirror. This amgiguous roof can be made from paper. The diagrams of the unfolded surface of the roof is here.
