Job Opportunities

Engineer in the electrical and electronic field is essential in every field of modern industry. There is also a growing demand for engineer of information and communications technology (ICT) in our highly-advanced society.

For decades our department has produced thousands of engineers and government officers who are actively working in a various industrial fields, including manufacturing, the construction industry, ICT, and infrastructure industry.

Recently our alumni further expand their field of expertise in medical engineering, food industry and pharmaceutical industry, utilizing their interdisciplinary background of electrical/electronic engineering and biosciences.

Students in our department can receive a variety of job offer; the number of offered jobs is more than the number of students for these ten years. Students are also given an opportunity to visit alumni to get advice in job hunting, in addition to various training and consulting opportunities to develop their career.

Admission to Graduate School

In Japan, technology or development department of private companies more likely to employ people holding master’s degree compared to those holing bachelor’s degree.

Our school offers strong support for students who wish to go to graduate school. Laboratories equip state-of-the-art installations to involve students into four leading fields of electrical engineering below.

(1) Environmental and Energy engineering
(2) Material and device science and nanotechnology
(3) Communication network
(4) Life science and information control system

Our department also provides cooperative graduate school program with excellent national institutes such as National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and RIKEN, in which students can learn advanced science and engineering with leading researchers from all over the world.

Students who are expected to graduate from the Department of electronics and bioinformatics with honors are admitted to graduate school upon recommendation. Most students get a scholarship to continue their study.
