Grad student Ryosuke Kanki and lab alumnus Takumi Furihata presented at the IUTAM Symposium on Nonlinear Dynamics for design of mechanical systems across different length/time scales, which was held in Tsukuba, Japan.

A paper entitled “Damage identification based on topology optimization and Lasso regularization” has been published online in Archive of Applied Mechanics. The article is based on a Master’s thesis work of a former lab member Ryo Sugai, which is part of a research collaboration with Dr. Saomoto of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). The article can be accessed via SharedIt (view only).

The paper entitled “Damage identification using noisy frequency response functions based on topology optimization” has been published in Journal of Sound and Vibration.

Professor Saito has given a presentation at the 16th International Conference on Motion and Vibration Control (MoViC 2022), which was held at UCLA. The presented work was based on the work of our former graduate student Tatsuya Suzuki.

A paper entitled “Bilinear Systems with Initial Gaps Involving Inelastic Collision: Forced Response Experiments and Simulations” has been accepted for publication in Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, Transactions of the ASME. [doi:10.1115/1.4051493]. It is based on a collaborative work with Prof. D’Souza of Ohio State University.
