Q:Hi, Professor KATO, I am from another country. I am not good at listening Japanese language. Do you speak English in your class?A:My dear student! I will mainly speak Japanese language in my class. I know that some students would not be good at listening Japanese, so I will speak plain Japanese and use a lot of videos, pictures, audio-visual materials which would help you to understand my lecture. I think my lecture may be much easier for foreign students to understand than other lectures taken in Japanese language. Q:I am not good at writing Japanese language. May I write the papers on this lecture in English? A:Yes, you can. But if you can write Japanese language a little bit, please try to write the weekly reaction papers and the term paper in Japanese language. I promise that I give importance to what you think and write in your papers, and I do not give importance to how you write them. I mean that you do not need to feel fears to make grammatical mistakes. As you may have seen, I do not mind making mistakes when I write English! Q:May I record your lecture by recording machine? May I take photos by smartphone in order to review your lecture? A:Of course, you can. But please do not upload them onto SNS (social networking service) such as YouTube, Twitter, bilibili, and so on. And please do not disturb your neighboring classmates when you use your recorder or smartphone in the classroom. Thanks for reading! |
